I had a very weird dream this morning about a webcomic about an older goth guy and his 2 adoptive “ant girl” daughters.

The goth dude kinda looked like if you combined young Trent Reznor and young Peter Murphy. The ant girls were kinda like cat girls but with ants instead of cats, like they looked mostly human but with ant features. They were about the size of the average teenage human. I remember one of the ant girls was like a red ant with long red hair and whatnot, and the other was a black ant with shorter black hair. I think the red girl had some kind of backstory about how she was a parasitic ant larvae that was sent to infiltrate a different species ant colony (???) but failed and got abandoned and that’s how goth guy adopted her. Idk about the other girl’s backstory or the goth guy’s backstory or what any of their names were.

The comic was REALLY popular online, esp tumblr and Reddit for some reason. On Reddit the red girl was more popular but on tumblr people were REALLY obsessed with the goth guy, I think my subconscious invented a new tumblr sexyman.

Persona 3 Reload is the biggest fucking letdown. I thought it was going to be including a fem MC like the portable version did, it doesn't.

You'd think that if they were able to fit all the extra changes and relationship mechanics and dialogue to the miniaturized and condensed version of the game, they would easily be able to add it to the remake. Especially given it's 2024 and it's about fucking time JRPGs let you actually play a fem MC.

No they keep using the same old fucking decades old excuse of "it's too hard to add to the game". I'm so fucking tired of that excuse. And it especially falls short when they literally had all the same fucking framework and they could have just...added it.

Like the game literally starts off by assigning a male MC to a GIRLS DORM. But you can't play a woman, or at the very least a female presenting person.

Why would they chose to do that? And then refuse to add the mechanics of playing as a girl, mechanics and script and voice acting they could've just remastered or copied directly.

No, they gave us representation with the barest bones version of the game and ripped it away for absolutely no reason when they had the chance to make a full game again.

And yes, I understand Persona 3 Portable was a remake of the original. But the point is not that they stay 100% faithful to the original. Why add that to a remake, see how beloved it was, and then remove it? Game devs continued to be terrified of tits and pussy and continue make the laziest excuses for not adding them to games.

hey magpie, how would you feel about someone potentially doing an audition with a monologue from one of your fics? i'm considering skizz's i'm asking you to die with me scene from the most recent chapter of acttv or tango's stein's law/goodbyes scene from empty oceans, but do you have any suggestions?

Oh my gosh! Ngl, it kind of hits the imposter syndrome button in my brain, like, don’t you want to use something better to audition than my silly little blockmen fanfics? But I’m not opposed to the idea if you’re really attached to it! I think those are both solid speeches to choose, but if you’d like some other ones for consideration:

Pearl’s “we’ve all done bad things” speech from Abandon the Hospital (which is one of my favourite things I’ve written).

A more niche choice: Shelby’s “but doesn’t that hurt?” speech to the Night in the penultimate scene of chapter 13 of The Fair and the Brave and the Good.

Cleo’s third act breakdown in chapter 30 of Lost Boys is another favourite of mine.

For both of those last two you might need to do some finagling/editing to compensate for the other person in the scene speaking, but I thiiink you’d have to do that for the EO Tango speech as well, so I’ve added them here anyway.

And then another niche pick, but In Plain Sight is a one-shot I wrote that is entirely a monologue from a character who is aware of the fourth wall to an invisible audience/playwright, so it could be a fun pick!

I can't find evidence of Cleo saying that THEY aren't a woman, but they DID at one point have to explain to someone that referring to their partner using gender neutral terminology wasn't because said partner was a woman (I'm pretty sure the partner was Cam. I'm not 100% on the timeline there)

Yeah, I found that while searching and it is 100% not what I'm looking for unfortunately. I think the original tweet might have been deleted (which is very fair) so I have been looking for the screenshot I originally saw on tumblr but that is very much like trying to find a needle in a haystack.

(From my memory: I'm pretty sure it was during the drama with that reddit mod a couple years ago over Cleo saying "shit" on stream, someone on twitter told her that her language was not appropriate for a woman or something like that and they responded with "I'm not a woman." However I have been looking for a solid hour at this point and am beginning to convince myself that maybe I never saw this in the first place and it was in fact a very vivid dream I had.)

I'M SO FUCKING SAD

Cohost was going to be the site that I would use for posting after all the AI shit with insta and tumblr, and twitter being musky as hell.

But now it's being shut down. My cosy, silly, lovely cohost, that made me feel like home, like the old tumblr.

No-one sees my posts on tumblr, and I feel unsafe posting here because of fuckjourney (m|dj0urn€y), and I have been fantasizing of deleting my instagram account since the app makes me anxious and sad.

But where do I go now? There's nowhere to go. The cosy little site I thought was going to be my haven is being run down because of lack of funds...
